ANALYTICAL STUDY OF PANCHAKARMA INTERVENTIONS IN METABOLIC SYNDROME: THERAPEUTIC EFFICACY, DOSHA-BASED ASSESSMENT, AND CLINICAL OUTCOME ANALYSIS
Abstract
Background: Metabolic Syndrome (MetS) represents a complex clustering of metabolic abnormalities including visceral obesity, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, and systemic hypertension that dramatically elevates the risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. In Ayurveda, this cluster mirrors a multi-systemic disruption of Agni (metabolic fire), leading to the chronic accumulation of Ama (toxic intermediates), primary vitiation of Kapha and Vata Dosha, and progressive morbid engorgement of Medovaha Srotas (adipose tissue channels). Palliative therapies often fail to match the compounding, systemic nature of MetS. Methodology & Synthesis: This extensive analytical study presents an exhaustive examination of structured Panchakarma (five-fold bio-purification) interventions specifically serialized Vamana (emesis), Virechana (purgation), and Lekhana Basti (scraping enemas) in resetting clinical endpoints. Through rigorous DoshaVikalpa (fractional humoral analysis), this paper evaluates changes across vital biomarkers, systemic hemodynamic parameters, and cellular mechanisms. The synthesis indicates that localized multi-stage clearing of microchannels produces long-term metabolic stability by targeting hepatic congestion, insulin receptor desensitization, and chronic low-grade inflammation.
